          FAQs

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
There are some important items to bring to your very first physical therapy visit:

            • A prescription from your referring physician. The next FAQ goes in to a little more detail on the requirement for a prescription.
            • Your driver's license or government-issued photo ID.
            • Your insurance card(s).
            • Completed Patient Forms found here.

Do I need a prescription to see a Physical Therapist?

The State of Texas has somewhat of a direct-access policy. That means a physical therapy can see you, evaluate you, and typically treat you for 10 consecutive business days without a doctor referral. You'll need a prescription from a licensed doctor, chiropractor, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner after the initial 10 consecutive business days to continue treatment. Certain limitations do apply.

What should I wear to my first appointment?

Be sure to wear comfortable, loose attire. Your clothing should allow you to move comfortably while allowing the therapist access to the affected area for treatment. If you forget clothing, the clinic provides shorts or gowns as needed.

What can I expect during my first visit?

Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before your first appointment to complete new patient forms, or you can download them here to help speed up the check-in process. Once you meet with our experienced physical therapist, you'll receive an initial evaluation. After completing the evaluation, the therapist will discuss their findings and implement a treatment plan, in most cases, on day one.

How long should I plan for my first appointment?

You can expect to work with the physical therapist from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your injury. Most appointments, however, only last one hour.

How frequent should my appointments be?

During your first appointment, your physical therapist will discuss the frequency of your visits. Every case is different and you may need more or less time than other patients based on your specific diagnosis. Your personalized treatment plan will cover how often appointments should be and how long treatment is expected to last.

          What will my payments be?

As a courtesy to our patients, our staff will verify your insurance plan prior to you receiving care. Our staff has established relationships with several insurance providers. The benefits of each plan are specific to each individual and vary plan to plan. If payment is needed, it will be requested prior to service each visit.
